WHY?

You know what people do ALL THE TIME?
Restrain themselves from buying things. I can't seem to do it. I have plenty of clothes IN MY CLOSET that I both need and want to get around to wearing, and yet, I continue to set my mind on purchasing beautiful but ENTIRELY UNNECESSARY items of clothing, shoes, jewelry, etc., etc., etc. Why?

"Boyfriend" Blazer Bonanza
I really hate how the word "boyfriend" has to be put in front of every piece of over-sized clothing that is now considered fashionable. It's super annoying. But, I do love this "boyfriend" blazer silhouette that everyone's going ape shit over for Fall. Perfect (i.e. HOT) open over any top and some short-ass shorts, and also a good option to pair with awesomely patterned leggings. I'm still looking for the right one though.
This McQ option is cute, but over $500 AND sold out in my size. So I guess it's a no-go... (Picture from Net-A-Porter).
I like this Silence and Noise blazer from Urban Outfitters much better anyways (only $88!), but it stupidly only comes in white and navy. Boo. I desperately want it in black.

Another Reason to Love Australia
There have been so many great lines coming out of Australia in the past few years that I can't even keep track anymore. But Gripp Jeans really needs to be mentioned. I love pretty much everything from their Fall 2009 collection and only wish I lived in Australia so I could purchase it ALL. Sigh.

More Lingerie
Okay. So I found photos on my computer of the post that I referred to (but can't seem to locate) in my post about the Kiki de Montparnasse garter tank. They follow. I still like the girdle she's wearing (it's vintage from Pixxi), but I think I've found one that's a little more my style...

This pretty thing is from Bordelle's Autumn Winter 2009 collection. Love love love. It would be great over a completely plain bodycon dress and some loud jewelry. Probably pearls. Mmm. If only.

Perhaps...
Hmmm. So maybe a better option that would just hint at the look I was thinking about in the post below would be some over-the-knee boots. They are supposed to be big this fall. And though I admit that usually I groan whenever this style is "revived" (I've rarely actually seen anyone wear over-the-knee boots in real life), it did look really hot on the girls in Isabel Marant's Fall 2009 show...

Garter Tank
I've loved this Kiki de Montparnasse garter tank ever since I saw it years ago on Shopbop, but I've always thought of it as entirely impractical (Kiki de Montparnasse is a lingerie brand). It's still around and I was thinking (inspired by some recent blogger posts - which I of course can no longer find - of girls wearing wonderful vintage girdles over their clothing) I might purchase it and wear it over jean shorts with some black over-the-knee socks. What do we think? Too slutty? Would it even work?

Judi Rosen
I have this ridiculously long paper I have to write about Foucault, which was actually due yesterday and is driving me insane, so of course I've been doing anything but working on it. I decided to take a look at all of the online shops I haven't been to in a while, including Bona Drag, and saw these great limited edition Judi Rosen dresses they have up. Take a look!

Plus, I did some investigating and found out she describes her clothes as "slutty daywear". I love it.

Leggings
A lot of people really hate leggings. I mean, if I had a dime for every time I overheard someone saying that they just "don't get" wearing leggings as pants... whatever. I really have no problems with it. Just make sure the top you're wearing covers your crotch and you're fine. And leggings aren't going anywhere. The next big thing is leggings with crazy patterns, which, as we speak, are literally everywhere. I don't see many people rocking them yet, but I am convinced it will happen. How could you not love any of the ones pictured below?

More Shoes
So I know my last post was about shoes, but you can't help what you feel like writing about, right? This trend has been around for a little while , but I'm not sure if anyone has pointed it out (or at least shoe lines have been producing shoes of this kind for a while, and the look will break soon if it hasn't already): two-tone shoes. Well actually, more specifically, shoes with different coloured toes. I just included the Giuseppe Zanotti lace-ups because they're so freaking amazing. I saw a picture of a girl on a website a while ago wearing closed-toe taupe platforms with black toes, and have been obsessed ever since. I would post the picture if I remembered where I saw it, but trust me, they look great on!

Necklaces
It used to be so hard to find the perfect plain t-shirt. But recently, every kind of perfect plain t-shirt you could possibly want has become available thanks to a number of new brands specializing in this basic - LNA, Kain, T by Alexander Wang (the best), etc. - and we're all eating it up. This is, therefore, the perfect time to invest in a "statement necklace" (although I hate using that term) such as one of the beautiful pieces below, all from Net-A-Porter, all for which I would kill. Everyone will complement you...

Trend
Visually interesting shorts. This sort of preoccupation with pattern has popularly been reserved for skirts, but this summer, shorts are repeatedly getting the same treatment. Pair them with a basic tank and sandals, and you're good to go. I'm particularly enamoured with the Rachel Comey pair shown below. (All photos from Creatures of Comfort).

A Peace Treaty
A Peace Treaty just uploaded their Spring 2009 collection. There are a lot of dip-dyed handkerchief scarves by which I'm not particularly impressed, but also some beautiful silk scarves that I'm excited for since I've been looking for a pretty silk scarf that's not obscenely expensive for a while now. My favourite is either the Dume or the Baha, both shown below.

For Coachella

I always fantasize about what I would wear to Coachella if I could watch the shows from backstage instead of fighting my way to the front through the sweaty masses. This Henrik Vibskov top from Forward by Revolve is it. I can just imagine the warm breeze flowing through it. Perfect.

Wish List
Retro orange and white. What I would give to be prancing around in the sun in these clothes right now, wearing red lipstick and pretending to be in the 50s.

OMG
The girls at Litter finally have their own website, and I definitely want one of their signature headpieces but might just have to splurge on some "shoe jewelry" first. Slash begrudgingly wait because I really shouldn't be spending any money right now... Oh but they're so cool! Can you tell I'm excited?
